WowWee’s Fingerlings collectible line of interactive toys had consumers going bananas over the 2017 holiday season by essentially evaporating from retail shelves and online marketplaces within minutes of their availability.
Named one of 2017’s Hottest Toys by The New York Times, USA Today, CNN and The Wall Street Journal, along with appearing on numerous retailer hot toy lists and national TV appearances, WowWee added imaginative unicorns and sloths to the initial line of Fingerlings monkeys, just in time to service a retail frenzy.
WowWee’s continued success in Tech Toys has inspired a robust range of licensees that will swing into retail by way of a consumer products program in 2018, via global licensing agent, Striker Entertainment. Fingerlings boasts an initial list of licensees that include: AllStar Vending, Bioworld, Cardinal, Commonwealth, Innovative Designs, Super Impulse, and Tara Toy with products that include apparel, backpacks, vending, games, stationary, collectibles and more. The bulk of the licensing program can be expected at retail for Fall/Winter 2018, but don’t be surprised to see some items rolling out as soon as this Spring!
“WowWee and the Fingerlings architect, Sydney Wiseman, have captivated a new generation of children who can claim ownership to this distinctive character set and play pattern,” says Russell Binder, partner at Striker Entertainment. “It’s Striker’s job to help organically build the world of Fingerlings in consumer products globally and help expand the narrative that WowWee is actively developing.”
Fingerlings fans around the world have only seen a glimpse of what WowWee has in store for this year by way of innovative toys and imaginative entertainment. WowWee is actively developing a media plan inclusive of animation and other exciting internal and fan generated content. The entertainment will highlight the adventures, sense of humor and friendship that make the world of Fingerlings so special and appealing. Adding complementary product will give fans a well-rounded experience which they can make their very own and keep them fully engaged in this fantastical new world.
“All of us at WowWee are thrilled to be working with the Striker team on Fingerlings,” said Richard Yanofsky, president and co-founder of WowWee. “Their expertise in Intellectual Property licensing and Industry know-how will bring an added dimension to the brand for 2018 and beyond.”
