Changes are afoot at apparel specialist Poeticgem, with the licensing division headed by Elliott Matthews leaving the setup to become Poetic Brands.

Poetic Brands is still part of parent group PDS Multinational – one of the world’s largest design, product development, sourcing, virtual manufacturing and distribution businesses for consumer goods – but will now operate as a single company that concentrates solely on licensed products.

The announcement comes at an exciting time for the company, with Poetic Brands nominated for the Best Licensed Adult Apparel Range for its Primark range featuring Pusheen – the cartoon cat who is a Facebook sensation. The range includes T-Shirts, vest tops, pyjamas and socks featuring the super-cute kitty.

It’s an exciting time for Pusheen, and we are proud to see Poetic Brands doing so well with Pusheen, especially in Primark,” says Andrew Lane, CEO at Fluid World – licensing agent for the brand.

Adds Elliott Matthews of Poetic Brands: “We’re delighted to have been nominated for the award and this adds to the sense of momentum and excitement across the company as we launch out on our own. From small beginnings in 2008 we’ve come an awfully long way and it’s great to be recognised by the industry for all our hard work on Pusheen.
