Asterix and the race through Italy: the title of the thirty seventh album of our Gaul friends’ adventures has finally been revealed!

We find ourselves back in the year 50 b.c. Italy is under the complete control of Rome. All of it? No! Though Caesar is dreaming of a unified Italy, the peninsula is made up of many independent regions. Life isn’t easy for the Roman legionaries and on 26th October, Astrix disembarks in Italy. Prepare yourselves for a rocambolesc race across the Italian boot!

The characters that were created by the comic book maestros, Alberto Uderzo and René Goscinny are back! After Asterix and the Missing Scroll, Asterix and Obelix return with Asterix and the Race Through Italy, the brand new album by the talented Jean-Yves Ferri and Didier Conrad. Unfortunately for Obelix, the citizens of Italy are not all Romans at all! The Italics are trying to preserve their independence and do not see Julius Caesar’s plans for domination in a good light.

In Asterix and the Race Through Italy, our favourite heroes leave for a great adventure to discover the fascinating world of ancient Italy!

“Italy is not only made up of Caesar, Rome and its Colosseum!” explain Didier Conrad and Jean-Yves Ferri. “We realised that it was about time that Asterix and Obelix found out what Italy was really like! This is something that we believe will sit well Albert Uderzo, as his family are Venetian.”
