The Bavaria Media team mourns the loss of the long-standing director of the Bavaria Sonor Licensing division.
Bernhard Haberfelner passed away on February 17th, 2017 at the age of 52 years after battling a serious illness.
Born in Austria, he went on to successfully complete his studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich with a Magisters degree. On June 1st, 2005, he joined Bavaria Sonor as a sales manager and has headed this division since July 1st, 2007 as the licensing director.
Bernhard Haberfelner not only experienced the heydays of the licensing industry, but also led the team confidently through difficult times and brought it back on track with the acquisition of the “emoji” license. With a great deal of commitment, he built an international network of agents and was a respected expert in the industry. He not only had extensive expertise in the field, but also impressed with his excellent English, French, Italian, Greek and even Arabic language skills.
Beyond his professional competence Bernhard was often described through attributes such as modesty, honesty, level-headedness, reliability, resiliency, team leadership, empathy and humour. He was a wonderful human being with composure.
Bernhard Haberfelner is survived by his wife Valerie and his son Leon.
We are greatly saddened by this loss.
