From April 13 to 16, the DeAPlaneta Entertainment team will be attending the Bologna Licensing Trade Fair once again. With more than 25 years of experience, the company produces, acquires and distributes unforgettable content and experiences, from movies and series to live shows and interactive games.
DeAPlaneta Entertainment’s Kids & Family division works with major global players, including Mediawan, Animaj, On Animation, Superprod, Cottonwood, Studio 100, Animoka, Mobo, and SAMG, to create original content. It boasts a portfolio filled with productions such as MILO, Karters, and Magic Lilly, and manages prestigious brand licenses in Italy, like Pocoyo. Its catalog also features timeless classics like Maya the Bee, Heidi, The World of David the Gnome, and Around the World with Willy Fog, along with new acquisitions like Mia & Codie and WonderPals, showcasing its ability to balance tradition with innovation. At Bologna Licensing Trade Fair, DeAPlaneta Entertainment will present several of its key brands.
MILO
MILO‘s two seasons have made the series a benchmark in preschool animation, airing in over 170 countries across four continents. In Italy, it is currently being broadcast on Rai Yoyo and is also available to watch for free on demand on RaiPlay.
Along with his friends Lofty and Lark, Milo explores the wide variety of trades that exist in the world, conveying to the show’s millions of fans the message that all jobs are AMAZING.
Following the acquisition of full ownership by DeAPlaneta Entertainment, the brand has expanded with the launch of its first short-format series: MILO’s Creations, MILO’s Bookreads and Milosodes. Other new additions include the Milo’s Music Box music albums, a new version of the MILO’s World app and the website http://miloseries.com
The series third season is already in the works, with a planned premiere date of 2027, and its expanding licensing programme includes toys, books, clothing and other products.
MAYA THE BEE
Present in more than 190 countries and the inspiration for several feature films and a multitude of product lines -toys, food, clothing, health, etc.- Maya the Bee is a true icon of family entertainment, embodying the importance of caring for the planet. For five decades, she has represented curiosity, respect for nature and the joy of exploring the world with friends, delighting children and adults of all ages. Testimony to this is the success in Italy of the new live show L’Ape Maia – Il Musical.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this iconic character, DeAPlaneta Entertainment has been involved in several initiatives in Italy, including projects dedicated to urban biodiversity and bee protection, such as the collaboration with Bee It and the creation of L’Ape Maia Hive in Milan. The celebrations also include the artistic initiative Bee Creative, Bee Green, Bee You, supporting the mission of Cascina Ri-nascita, as well as a dedicated anniversary exhibition at Villa Tittoni, featuring original artefacts collected in collaboration with Fondazione Franco Fossati and Spazio WOW – Museo del Fumetto in Desio. POCOYO
DeAPlaneta Entertainment and Animaj are the Licensing Agents for Pocoyo in Italy. Renowned for its minimalist 3D animation, the series delights children with its educational content, memorable characters, and playful narratives. With a substantial presence across TV, VOD, and mobile apps, along with over 40 million YouTube subscribers. Two decades after its creation and with a new season on air, Pocoyo remains a cherished brand, captivating millions of children and families globally.
HEIDI
Directed by Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki – the founders of the prestigious Studio Ghibli – Heidi was one of the first anime series to enjoy international success when it was released five decades ago. Its moving story – a true ode to nature, friendship, and solidarity- and endearing character designs have made it a timeless icon and a benchmark for family entertainment. Evidence of its enduring popularity can be seen in the diverse range of licensed products inspired by the main character and her friends, as well as its continued appeal to young and adult audiences.
